Who am I? Just Jim: a guy who does home-improvement projects, rides his motorcycle and spends weekends with the family at the cottage – when I have a little spare time, that is.
I stay rather busy as:
- A member of Ferndale Borough Council and the Ferndale Borough Recreation Commission.
- An active member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company (currently the president) and a part-time police officer in Ferndale Borough.
- A fulltime employee of the American Red Cross and a self-employed businessman.
- Someone who’s held some type of paying job ever since the age of 12.
I put my Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech Municipal Police Academy training to good use on the job as a municipal police officer – and even while on vacation last year at Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Check out this video.
My greatest source of pride and joy is my family. If my wife, Kathy, and kids – Kayla, Kirsten and Beau – weren’t supporting my campaign for 71st District Representative, I wouldn’t be running.
Dick and Jean Rigby, my dad and mom, raised seven kids in a Ferndale household based upon principles of Christian faith, loving discipline and hard work. And while my mom and brother, Rick, now have passed on, our family (which includes my sisters Kathy, Tammy, Peggy, and Marcy; my brother, Tim; their significant others; nine nieces and nephews; and my dad’s wife, Jo) remains close.
If you don’t know me, you know guys like me: hard workers trying to do a good job for their families, their faith, and their community. Give me the chance to do that kind of job for you.
